Veritas Backup Exec Remote Agent problem

| I'm running VBE 8.60 on a 2000 Server. I have a NT 4.0 server that I'd
like to backup also. I followed the directions, and installed the
agent on the remote machine. In its 'Add/Remove Programs' is proof
that the Agent is installed. On the backup machine, if I right-click
the remote machine and choose properties, it tells me the Remote Agent
is installed, running, and gives me a version number.
However, when looking at the 'pick list' - the box is grayed out, and
I can't make any selections....
What am I missing?? Please help. Thanks.

I am having the same problem I am trying to backup 8 servers (2000 and 2003 mix).
And when I go to setup the backup under the Remote Selections area, all of the servers in question are showing as Grayed out.
I can't figure it out. All of the workstations in the network show correctly, but the servers are all gray.
Does anyone have any information that might help. Thanks | |

Have you guys installed the Remote Agent license key on the media server? I know there are additional keys for the remote windows agents and I believe they come standard with the standard backup exec 8.6 license but you still need to enter it manually. Check the CD covers of your media for the keys. |
