I had been installed V2i DESKTOP 2.03 on all machines in my lan, and gives
access right to the agent as well.

Then i installed the v2i 2.03 SERVER CONSOLE on a W2k AS.

IT IS THE ISSUE : I can access and manage the machines with w2k installed
from the console. But with those who have WIN XP SP1, the console display a
message (in spanish, i will translate) "Necessary Admin rights to execute
this app"

I checked : The user accounts both in server and workstation (with admin
rights), the account in the agent in the workstation. Notice that the same
configuration WORKS in a w2k workstation but NOT WORKS on a WXP

¿Any ideas? I am blasting off with it!!!!!
Best regards

Did you remotely push the agents on all V2i computers in the Console?

Make sure that the clients have the same v2i admin logon details.
Open on the client the V2i Protector Service (Computer Management,
Applications and Services, open the V2i Protector Service). Open the "Log
on" tab and check the "This Account" logon details. They should match on all
involved V2i client computer and the one on which you have installed the
Server Console. That means that the Console should allow the logged on PC's.
Erroneaous V2i clients have a red cross in the Server console meaning that
they do not have the proper V2i service logon properties.

the steps i made are :

1. install v2i desktop ed. on all machines one by one

2. install v2i server ed. on server with w2k AS. Then initiated sesion with
an admin account

3. initiate v2i service in desktop machines with the same account as i
logged in the server

4. open management console on the server, and added all desktop machines

For now, i can ONLY backup those machines who have W2K installed. I can´t
access WXP

I´ve reading that i need the individual management console product, because
the one on the V2i SERVER edition works ONLY with W2K, W2K SERVER or WNT4

¿it is correct? ¿have you tried this console with WXP desktop?

Thanks you for your reply
saludos
