| have done something very very silly,
I have got 2x4 gig hdds + a 30 gig hd
right the silly bit
I rescued a desktop casing from a builders skip
and to my surprise inside was a athelon 700mhz with motherboard
no cd hd ect. right I thought my Windows XP unit has only got
a 400mhz p2 so you guessed it I spent several hours transplanting
all my bits into the new unit
it wouldn't boot from the Windows XP pro ntldr missing?
so I thought I would use the spare 4 gig and install from scratch
win 2000
YES YOU GOT IT I MIXED UP THE DRIVES AND HAVE FORMATTED AND INSTALLED WIN 2K
OVER MY XP PRO DRIVE
is there any way to get back XPpro ? it came installed on the drive when I
brought the origional pre owned pc. I have no disks for xp
I should have made a back up
any help appreciated, small cash available maybe buy disks or something

| Your computer should have come with a disk with a drive image backup on it.
If not, ask the manufacturer if it is available. Otherwise, you're stuck
buying a new copy of XP.

I suggest that you contact your movie producers. The would probably
be interested in making a film about your life history.

| I hear rescue companies saying they can recover OVERWRITTEN data. Then I find that none will even recover one that has simply had its partition deleted. Weird.
And no, he could just copy someone's XP and use the license number which is probably on a manual or the case somewhere.
