Author Does drive image copy deleted files from a harddrive?

Hi, I was wondering if Drive Image (or any other ghost writing software)
also makes a copy of deleted files on a harddrive or are only the parts of
the harddrive that are in use copied?

Drive Image always creates a sector based image, so the information of a
deleted file (in the FAT or MFT) is also copied...
Not Ghost for Ghost writes a file based image by default unless the -ia
command line switch has been specified
