I've bought 2.5" HDD enclosures but found that the power needs vary with the
disk. A 10GB drive worked fine powered via USB, but a 40GB drive in the
same enclosure would not. The enclosure I have (some clone noname brand)
came with a PS/2 power cable so you can power it off the keyboard/mouse
port, and that works quite well.
