Any experiences with "Simply Safe Backup"?

| I've been looking for a cheap backup program to replace the one that
comes with Windows XP and found something called Simply Safe Backup. I
downloaded the free version and on the surface it appears to be a
really great little program, very well thought-out and with all the
features one could want, plus a great interface--but it doesn't work,
at least not for me. Every time I try to actually back something up I
get an error window, asking me to send a bug report to them including
the log file. I just can't help but to find this suspicious since 99
times out of a 100 the stuff I download works fine. Anybody ever have
any experience with this program? At this point I'm just curious,
because I'll probably just go to CompUsa and buy something.

| Hi,
I found some user reviews on snapfiles,
http://www.snapfiles.com/opinions/for_simplysafe.html , regarding the free
version.
The application is indeed cheap, the personal edition is $20 but you should
look at the price of the support (starting at $50/year up to $300/year) and
also at the fact that they charge for each upgrade $20, so you might end up
paying much more then you thought.
For $30 you could buy Backup4all, http://www.backup4all.com and you
don't have to pay for support or minor updates (it also has a trial period
of 30 days).

| I bought the 2005 professional version that was released this month. I agree the 2004 version had some problems, but they seem to finally have their act together with 2005.
The professional is pleanty for my workstations and the basic web and SQL servers my company employs. The backup inventory features make it pretty simple for me to find files that users accidentally delete and restore without having to have all the discs available. I send one of the web servers to another server via FTP and the encryption helps me feel safer about my decision to backup that way.
