PowerQuest Drive Image

| I planed backup sessions with PowerQuest Drive Image but when my backup
device is full (a hard drive), PowerQuest Drive Image does not replace the
oldest backup file with the latest. I have to do that manualy!
What's the interest of planning backup sessions in that case?
Thanks for your comments.

Well, maybe you want a backup program to overwrite old files :-)
Many users make backups to archive their data.
And would rather see a message 'couldn't finish backup job by
lack of space' than 'I wiped some of of your precious archive to
make room for a copy of stuff that is still available on your
harddisk'.

Yes, that is what I want. A backup program is not an archive program. It's
not the same thing.
I would prefer the day my main hard drive crashes, to be able to restore the
most recent data, not the oldest.
Pity such a backup program does not offer that as an option.

Well, actually, it is. A backup program is a tool, to be used
with skill.

That's not a problem at all. Just schedule a program that assures
there is enough free space on your backup device to hold the most
current backup and you're done. Well, almost.
You may also consider that your harddisk is not the only
vulnerable place in your system.
If you want to be able to restore after a crash, an online backup
is not the most reliable fall back. Most hazards (like fire,
theft, virus, thunderstrike, flooding etc.) will destroy any on
line backup as well :-)
