I backed up my data to diskettes (won't make that mistake again),
reinstalled the OEM Windows '98 software, now have a problem restoring with
the second diskette in the backup set. I ran scandisk, which "repaired"
three sectors, but the restore program rejects the diskette as not belonging
to the set. If I replace it with the third diskette, the restore program
accepts it and displays it's sequence number, several zeros and a 3. I can
copy the file on the bad diskette to a folder on the hard drive, and it
displays a Mybackup file name, then copy it to a new diskette, but the
restore program does not accept it. Any ideas on redeeming this data?
Ontrack says it's not a "recovery" issue, but likely a corrupted data
problem.
