Hi Guys,

Ik have a problem restoring an exchange 5.5 mailbox to a remote exchange
server in Arcserve2000 ( sp5 ).
I configured the backup agent for exchange exactly the way Arcserve wants
it, but every time i try to restore a mailbox i get the following error:

E3150 Unable to connect to network drive. (DRIVE=\\AD-VZ-BDC-001\ADMIN$,
EC=LOGON FAILURE)

The account has sufficient rights on every level. The Backup of a mailbox
works fine but i am not able to restore.

If i perform the same operation on a local backup device on the exchange
server it is not a problem.

Anybody an idea? Or is it another bug?

Thanks A Lot,

Michiel

It looks like how you are trying to restore. It appears from your
error that you are trying to restore to the ADMIN$ share which exists
only for MS admin purposes. Restore to the agent not a network share.
If you are backing up via the agent, you should be able to leave
destination as same as original, or browse to your mail server as it
shows up under windows NT/2000/XP systems, not the one listed under
Network. Browse to your Exchange Server Brick level then select the
dest mailbox. You can right click on the server object and go into
security and check the agent name and reset the password. If you
still receive security errors reset the agent username in AD and in
the Agent configuration on the server. Post again if it still
doesn't work. I struggled with this one a long time so you are not
alone.

Hi,

I have the similar problem. I backup my exchange server remotely and want to restore one mail box remotely. When I restore, i choose " restore to original location" with the same user id and password as backup. The problem is there.

any suggestion.
