Recovering Formatted Files

| Hi all,
I accidently installed Windows XP to my 120gb D: drive. Unfortunately, as
you may have guessed,
there were over 100gb of files on the D: drive. I was wondering if anyone
knew of any software that
can restore most of these files. I know that I won't be able to retreive
them all, as the Windows install
took up 2.4gb. I was, however, hoping (praying) that I could at least get
back some files, as most are
irreplacable. If anyone can help, PLEASE HELP!
Thanks,
Dave.

| Your best bet is to use a commercial data recovery service such as
www.ontrack.com.
They usually charge an evaluation fee.
MOST IMPORTANTLY: IMMEDIATELY stop using that computer.
AND get yourself a backup program to reduce the cost of such future
accidents.

| Hi,
Yes, you can really use data recovery tools to restore erased files.
Among them the most powerful are Active@ undelete and Uneraser (for
DOS). Theese tools always worked great for me so I think you can give
them a try.
