Hi

I am running an Exchange 2000 sever that backs up using Veritas Backup
Exec 9.1 to an external SDLT tape drive overnight.

It backs up the following directories:

* C (O/S only)
* D (exchsrvr - mdbdata)
* E (Program Files)
* System State
* Microsoft Information Store (First Storage Group - Mailbox Store &
Public Folders)
* Utility Partition

Every morning when i get in work the email server is down, 'requesting
data from Microsoft Exchange Server' and all i do to fix it is re-start
the server and when it comes back up, email works!

I was wondering if there is something i need to do in Exchange or
Veritas (i will post this on a Exchange group also) to stop this from
happening...

Thanks for any help,

Matt :0)

I've had the same problem and it turned out that my system resources was too
low on my Exchange Server (I was using SBS) and plus I was reaching the 16G
limit.

At that time (last year), I was running the Exchange server on a P3, dual
processor, 1GB system. I've since upgraded the machine and to Enterprise
version so that I don't have the hassle of 16G limit.

Anyway, you may want to take a look at your system resources as I've noticed
that the Veritas 10.0 remote agent sucks up a bit of system resources while
active.
