Acronis True Image Question
|
|
|
| I'm using Acronis True Image 8.0 to make images of my various hard drives.
When the Acronis Bootable Rescue CD is made, does it contain the same files,
whether it's made on a WinXP machine or a Win 98 machine? I'm backing up
both hard drives, and I wonder if I need a Rescue CD for each OS.
Thanks!

You should be good to go. Switch off your machine. Insert CD. Make sure CD
is your primary boot device in the BIOS. Boot up select boot from CD. See
how it all works.

old jon,
Okay, that's what I did. I put the Rescue CD in each of my computers, and
walked thru the Restore Image wizard. It looks like everything will work fine.
It sure gives me peace of mind.
Thanks!

What about drivers needed if using usb mouse?
I think you should creat a rescue CD for each computer just to be safe
unless the peripherals are pretty much the same.

who cares,
I tried the Acronis Rescue Cd in both Win 98 and Win XP machines, and it works
fine in both. Both use a USB mouse, and the mouse works fine after booting to
the CD.

I recently tried TrueImage 9.0. I really like the product.
I've had veritas, NTI, etc. TrueImage is a great backup product.
That said however, I'm having a problem. Seems that once Trueimage is
installed(on a XPPro machine), I can't print from a second machine on my
home network. I have a win98se machine that I've been printing to a
pair of printers shared via my xp machine. However, after installing
Trueimage, I get an error on the win98 machine that says document can't
be printed as there is not enough memory to print document.
However, if I restore the registry to just before the trueimage install,
there is no problem.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Roger
