Problem with deferred Retrospect backup

For several weeks I've had regular scheduled backups through Retrospect
that have gone off without a hitch. One time, the drive that I was
backing up to was not hooked up and the execution of the backup got
deferred. Now, I can't change back from that status. In the lower left
message pane on the window, it says "Execution is deferred" - so no
scheduled backups will run. I can run an immediate backup with no
problem. I've tried deleting the entire schedule and re-scheduling, but
still it is deferred. What am I missing here?
