How do you schedule XP to turn on the PC at a certain time of day?
Ive looked all over, in Power Options and in Help and I have done it before
but cant find how to do it now. I need to do this for the backup server is
on which is really someones PC on the home LAN.

thank you

How can Windows switch on a PC when the PC needs to be on to run Windows
in the first place? ;o)

You can do what you need in one of two ways, neither of which you'll
fine in control panel. There's a setting in most PC's BIOS to power on
at a specific time. The other way is to trigger the boot-up from another
PC using the Wake On LAN feature of some network cards. See

How about a very simple solution, get a timer switch on the electrical
supply !
