My son has just received a new Dell Dimension computer with Windows XP Pro
SP2 installed and has the Norton Ghost 9.0 program that he wants to install
also. I did some research and found that "you need to modify the windows XP
Pro "Data Execution Prevention" policy and the Boot.ini file to allow Ghost
to launch its service during starup." As I understand it, if you don't make
this change, there will be blue screen error during bootup.

Has anyone recently had to work with this problem, and if so, any
suggestions? Would very much appreciate any comments. Sam.

I guess ignorance is bliss. I use Ghost 9 with XP-Home SP-2 with absolutely no
problem. I wouldn't modify anything until you see if it will run.

I run Norton Ghost 9.0 with XP Pro Service Pack 2 with no problems and no
need to change anything in boot.ini...

I'm running XP Pro SP2 and have no problem. As I read your link, this is a
fix if you have a problem, but I haven't seen anyone's posting about having
difficulties as described. I do recommend doing a liveupdate as quickly.
