Norton Ghost 9.0 missing CD/DVD writer option
|
|
|
| I trying to backup a hard disk using DVD's, but the CD/DVD option is not
showing up on the menu. Symantec's "fix" is to disable any other writer
software or if that fails to uninstall it. I've tried disabling Nero's
InCD to no avail. I refuse to uninstall it, or my other software to
suit Norton. Anyone else having this problem? Any other suggestions?
Oh, and it's Windows XP Home with SP2.

A possible candidate is Pinnacle System InstantCD+DVD, or the SlySoft
CloneCD?

I had a similar problem like this, and solved it by disabling the XP
"Drive Letter Access" option for the DVD drive:
Open My Computer. Select Properties for the DVD drive. On the
Recording tab, UNSELECT the "Enable CD recording on this drive". OK.
Then reboot and try it again.
The DLA software was holding onto the DVD preventing Ghost 9 from
using it.
