Author Help with Nero BackItUp backups needed

Hi all,

Just got a new PC & I've ported all my apps/settings/data across. However,
Nero my daily BackItUp "Update"-type backup is behaving very odd:
- before I did 1 Full Backup once & then only needed to run a quick Update
Backup every night thereafter; this left the full backup intact & just
refreshed any new/changed files
- now, the Update Backup seems to wipe the entire Full Backup repository &
overwrite it with the new/changed files - WTF!?

Anyone got idea which settings control this behaviour? I've compared both
pretty closely & they all look the same - it's really bugging me that I'll
now probably have to take a Full daily backup (heaps of disk grinding every
night) or I'll have to take a full weekly/monthly with a daily incremental
*sigh*.

Any/all advice much appreciated - TIA! ;-)

Can't help you there. But I find the biggest problem is that it doesn't use
the standard ZIP format for backups. It uses some crazy propriety format
which is NOT nearly as tight in compression.

If you've got any good alternatives as a suggestion I'm all ears ;-)

Try out the free and/or trial software to be found at nonags.com
Look under "Backup Tools" and you will find some VERY sophisticated
software.
Should you buy the 'delux/full versions' it's usually not very expensive.
In any case, the software there is far in excess of what Nero offers (I own
Nero too).
Best,
=Pete
