| Hi all,
Have been watching this group for a while now looking for something similar
to this but havent managed to find anything.
What i am after is a program that can choose which directories to back up
from a selection that i make that will best fit to either cd or dvd ??
Basically i can be backing up 20 / 30 directories at a time for my needs,
sometimes over many cd's or dvd's and i would like something to be able to
tell me the most efficienct way of doing this with regards to discs.
Anyone know of any software available to do this ?? Freeware or to buy -
don't mind just want to find somehting to do it.
Kind regards

Well, maybe this is not what you are after after all.
But there is a convenient alternative: auto span.
Many programs (e.g. PKZip) allow you to pack huge amounts of data
into an archive and split the result into chunks.
You decide their size. (e.g. 680 MB for a CDR or 1800 MB to fill
half a DVD.)
Added advantages are, that you can store more data on a single
disk, that you don't spill any space and that PKzip adds an extra
crc, which provides you with extra security.
