Question:

When you use the restore function, does the backup file get used up (no
longer exists, kaput) or is it still extant and available for use in
case the restore operation should fail and you want to use it again?

Thanks in advance

No. Of course hitting the wrong key could have the same effect. Be
careful.

The backup image(s) still exists after restoring; it's not deleted.
