Hi all,

I've had a bit of a problem dumped on me and for the life of me I cant
seem to find an email address on the Veritas site for me to send them
a question, nor is their chat option responding.. so I was hoping
someone here could perhaps help...

OK, there are 2 servers, One Small Business Server 2003 and one Server
2003 Standard.

One of these servers is going to run BackUp exec and will backup both
servers, by the use of an agent on the other box??

Anyway I am needing to source the right bits of software to pull this
off, so does anyone know what product/part numbers I would need to
pull this off?

There are two scenarios which I assume would need different agents...

1st Scenario, main Backup Exec software runs on the SBS2003 server and
an agent on the Server 2003 Standard box...

or

2nd Scenario, Main Backupexec software runs on Server 2003 Standard
box and the agent runs on the SBS2003 box....

Am I understanding it correct? Is this how it would be done? The
problem seems to be in identifying the correct Agent, so if anyone
could help I would be very grateful..

Cheers,
CB

Hi CB,
Clarified some questions below.

I don't fully know your scenario, but based on your explanation, Scenario 1
is probably your best bet for what you describe. If your environment is
expected to grow, option 2 may be your best long term option. Without fully
understanding your needs, you should contact the sales team and let them
create a solution that fits your needs for today and the longterm.

The sales number is 1-800-327-2232 if calling from within the U.S. If you
are not in the US use this link instead

This is correct. One system will have Backup Exec installed, and the other
system will run the Remote Agent for Windows Servers. This agent will allow
Backup Exec to remotly protect the other system.
