Back-up for certain folders only??
|
|
|
| Hi,
I have Acronis 8 and Norton Ghost 9 but dont think either give you an easy
option to back up only certain folders. I have a large primary h/d and half
size 2nd drive, and have image of primary on disk, however I would like to
back up certain folders quite often and not the whole drive. Is there a
good back-up program for individual folders that is simplistic, for the non
technical.
Thanks Roo

| Roo,
DataMills, Relative Rev Backup for Workgroup http://www.datamills.com
can easily handle certain files/folders selections. It will also give
you configurable management to keep the latest n backup versions.
Attached below a quote from the famous shareware reviewer -- Dr. File
Finder :
"Relative Rev Backup, by DataMills, is a powerful utility for backing
up all of the important information you keep on your computer. I found
the program to be very easy-to-use and quite intuitive. That makes it
perfect for both new and experienced users. I've said this numerous
times, but I'll say it again, "You need to keep your computer backed
up, and if you don't, you're asking for trouble!" One of the neat
features in this program is that it allows you to take "snapshots" of
the information on your machine. And, you can even take "incremental"
snapshots over a period of time. At the same time you decide just how
far back your backups go. So, for example, say you tell the program to
keep four (4) backups. Once it gets to that point and you go to make
the fifth one, it simply deletes the oldest of the backups. Very neat!
Relative Rev Backup has a really nice "wizard" that helps guide you
through the process. You can create multiple backup sets and then
schedule them to run when you're not around...... The program also
makes it very easy to restore data should you need it. And I do mean
easy! Just pick the backup set you want -- the date and the files you
want restored. Then just pick where you want them restored to. A very
handy wizard will also help you with the restore process. All in all
you have complete control over restoring your data, and that's
important.
Relative Rev Backup, by DataMills, is powerful yet easy-to-use. It
comes with "wizards" to help make the entire backup and restore process
a simple matter. By allowing incremental snapshots it gives you a great
deal of flexibility in keeping all your data safe. At the same time, it
supports a wide range of media so your backup options are almost
endless. So, if you're looking for a good way to protect all of the
data on your hard disk, this might be just what you're looking for.
Give it a try -- I think you'll like it! "
