Author Help: Keeping Original Dates when Restoring from Arcserve

Our old office is under water from Katrina. However, I was able to save
some backup tapes that were made using Arcserve 2000. Some friends here in
Texas are trying to restore the files for us from these tapes. However,
something strange is going on and I hope you can help.

When they try to restore the tapes onto a USB drive I bought, all the files
have today date stamps. We need to have the files restored with their
original dates on them. Our friends try again and got the same results.
They said that it must be normal for Arcserve to restore like that.

I don't know enough about Arcserve to tell them what other settings they
can use to restore the files with the original dates. The files were on
Windows NT and Windows 2000 web and SQL servers.

I have used the free backup utility that came with Windows before, and when
I restore from a backup, I am able to get files with the create and
modified dates as they were when they were backed up. I would think that a
commercial application like Arcserve could do the same.

But I didn't buy Arcserve for the office and our IT guy is probably in
another state with his family. Thankfully everyone from our office got out
from the disaster OK.

For those who have experience with Arcserve, please respond.

Thanks!
