I am using ATI Ver8 which has given me good service. The only disadvantage
is backing up my emails etc
I understand that Ver 10 has that ability. Anyone tried it and if so how did
they find it?

Acronis for full backups\cloning, and SyncBack (freeware),
www.snapfiles.com/php/download.php?...g=1829678&loc=2
for backing up individual folders, is what I use.
Almost a foolproof system, but of course(fingers crossed),
nothing is perfect.
HTH.

I understand that ATI can backup individual files although I have not used
it. So why use two systems?
Are you using Ver 10?

As I said Blair I use Acronis (8) for full partition\drive BU and
cloning. (BU, say weekly\fortnightly).

But for quick folder BU to my external USB drive I use SyncBack.

If I just want to save off My Music, or My Docs, `cos Ive modified
them in some way (Added\Subtracted stuff), SyncBack does it.

HTH.

Thanks for you reply. Do you mind if I ask you more question about your
backup procedure? I have yet to establish my own final procedure.
When you backup your full partitions where is the backup held?
Do you do incremental backups subsequently?
I have 4 partitions and one of them is exclusively for my own created data
which invariably I modify some of it every day or week. This I do using
Acronis TI
I am puzzled why you have to have another programme to do this.

I use a USB external hard drive for BU, Imaging, and Syncing
No, I don`t bother with incrementals, I use SyncBack for that.

Does not TI 8 create image backups?
If so, all your mail is getting backed up.

There is no reason to use other than an image based backup, as long as one
can retrieve files and directories from the image.

Incremental backups with an image based backup program not take much, if
any, longer than a file based selective backup.
File based operations are very slow, and have some shortcomings, e.g., see
http://www.standards.com/index.html?CreateFileFailure.
