Author Compatibility between TSM and BackupExec

Using TSM Client/Windows - 5.3.0.14, TSM Server 5.2.4.2 at one site and
Symantec BackupExec (Windows) 10d at another. Need to be able to
transfer data via tape between sites. Assuming a uniform tape media,
are there any options for writing out a common tape format which can be
cataloged/read by either side?

Thank you for any tips from folks who have dealt with this type of
issue.

Backup Exec supports writing to a TSM server, and with version 10d, I
believe the option is included. Not sure what versions are supported though.
You could do staged backups to disk/TSM, then offhost them to tape with TSM
and transport them. Would that work?

Thanks
Nick

Thanks Nick... After reading your note, I did verify that support for
TSM is included in 10d. I have forwarded the idea to our TSM guys, and
hope to move this concept into a test to verify functionality. Will
let you know outcome.
