I got a 250 gb usb 2 which was $99 after rebates.speeds are USB 1
12Mbps, 100mb ethernet, USB 2 480Mbps, then firewire 400Mbps after
that. (sustained throughout considered) Depending on the amount of
data the choice is yours though I don't suspect you don't have a whole
lot. Whether you use another computer on your network or a external
drive you are always at risk of a blackout. Whether the HD you backup
to is in a box on the side or on another PC... It's still a HD.
