Hello!

I have a running web-, mail- and database server and I would like to
create an image of this server (so that if something fails I can just
recover the whole server within couple of minutes from the image).

partimage was my first choice but does not support mounted partitions.

Which tools (may also be commercial if < 500$ per Server) would you
recommend?

Thanks in advance

'dump' is free.

Look at LiveState Recovery from Symantec. It can recover to dissimilar
hardware. How often does one have identical hardware to recover to?
Especially when the server has been around for a year or two.

Look at Relative Rev Backup for server (http://www.datamills.com) it
takes incremental backup **forever**, reducing backup time to a small
fraction, and it allows for multiple versions to go back months and
even years. You may search for files across all backed up versions and
recover the one you like.

I know they have a beta version supporting mount volumes.
