Hi There,

We currently have around 7GB data files stored on an external NetDisk drive.
We also have another NetDisk drive mirroring this data but what we would
like to do I backup this data to somewhere outside of the office.

Preferably via FTP but password protected/encrypted as it is sensitive data.

Any ideas for decent software which will compress the data pretty well
otherwise it could be extremely slow.

I don't really know a great deal about backup strategies but any advise
would be appreciated.

Thanks In Advance

Jamie

Try Backup4all (http://www.backup4all.com). It creates standard zip files
that can also be encrypted (using AES encryption up to 256-bit) and
automatically backup them via FTP. It also supports SSL encryption when
using backup to FTP, but you need to ask your hosting company if they
provide SSL support.
Regarding the compression ratio, it uses the ZIP compression algorithm.
Also, once a full backup is created, you can continue doing incremental
backups to avoid uploading large amounts.
