When I try to load a tape from HP C1557A robotic library, always showme
this error:

Event ID: 58053
Source: Backup Exec
Type: Error
Description: Backup Exec Alert: Device Error
(Server: "%server%") Robotic library hardware error.
The robotic library has reported a general hardware error condition.
Manual intervention, calibration, etc., may be required.

I don't understand what kind of error are talking about, because de HP
StorageWorks, pass the Autoload test fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Jose.

Here is a technote on the problem, but it offers little advice.
http://support.veritas.com/docs/252387

Try the instructions on removing the device in the technote, and if you
still receive the same error than you need to contact the manufacturer of
the tape drive, because BE is getting errors when asking the loader to
perform various operations. This could be related to old/outdated firmware
on the SCSI card, or loader, as well as old drivers for the SCSI card.

Hope this helps,
Nick
