Windows ME to tape - software recommendation?

Hi. I'm running Windows ME (don't ask why, please!), and I have a VXA tape
drive. I used to use Retrospect, but it keeps crashing. I reinstalled it at
one point and it worked for a while, then started crashing again. At one
point I had a trial of Novabackup and that seemed to work fine, so maybe I
should just go to that.

Eventually I will bite the bullet and upgrade my system. In the meantime, I
need a decent backup strategy.

Can anyone recommend a good program which won't cost a fortune to tide me
over until I'm ready to reconfigure everything. Is Novabackup a good
choice?
