I download the trial version of Acronis True Image 9.1.
I assumed when you purchase a license, you get
a registration key but I don't see any place
to enter the key. Do I have to download another
version when I purchase or is there a way to enter
the key in the trial version?

You would have to uninstall the trial version and then install the real
version.

I was wondering, the web site made it look like you activated the
trial version or something. I saw Acronis 9.0 is only $20 at
Newegg so I ordered it. That price is hard to pass up.

| Do not install the version you purchased.
As I recall the retail boxed version is the buggy build 2323.
Register at the Acronis web site and download the latest build.

Thank you for that info. I will certainly check before I install.

| Wait a bit,
Acronis issued build 3666 yesterday, but I , and others, are finding that
the downloaded file is version 3633, whilst others are seeing 3666.

That's what happens when you get that old 666 devil
in there ... ;-)
Bought Version 9 a while back and after reading the
forums and testing, gave up and went with Terabyte's
BING (Boot It Next Generation). Since I have a
copy of TI, maybe time to download the latest and
try it again. Be aware that Acronis has support
forums at
http://www.wilderssecurity.com/forumdisplay.php?f=65
And Terabyte (Bing, Image 4 DOS etc) has their own
newsgroup/news server that is pretty good.

I downloaded and installed 3666. The only problem I noticed is it
won't backup to DVD+R media using an NEC-3550A drive.
It works to CD-R. I'll have to find out if Acronis has trouble with
NEC drives.
