Is anyone parsing information from the log files created
by Backup exec?

Has anyone pursued such an effort?

I am hoping someone has developed the logic and/or
utilities for automated "reading" of Backup exec log
files (BEX###.xml or html) so that I can modify it to report a more
condensed version with just specific strings of information
that are of special interest and if possible put that information
into a sql db.

I have had an idea for doing this as a side project for
a while now and wanted to check with members of this
forum before starting from scratch.

With some luck, I may find someone that has written
something in Visual Basic.

I would also like to get any input from others as to what
they use to minimize the effort of reviewing log files.

Does Veritas (or anyone else) have such tools available?

Thanks in advance..
