Veritas Backup Exec 10d overwrite problem
|
|
|
| Hello,
I have a job that I want to overwrite any tape in the TBU.
ie: on the properties for the job, under Device and Media, I have
'overwrite'
selected. The tape in the drive is part of the Media set.
However, I get an alert that says "Please remove the media from the
drive, and respond OK".
The job never starts.
Can anyone offer any advice as to changes I need to make to job
properties?
thanks!

Hi,
I'm not an expert, but my understanding is that the media you insert needs
to be marked as overwritable. If it already has a backup job on it, that is
not overwritable then it will not work.
If you insert a tape, and then mark that tape as scratch media, you may find
this works.
But I'm not an expert!
