Help with .qic file
|
|
|
| I have a .qic backup file from an old hard drive, but I no longer have MS
Backup. I'm now running XP Home, but the backup file is on a second hard
drive partition.
Can somebody please, please tell me how to recover this data. My kids' baby
pictures are on there!
Thank you!!

| XP home doesn't have MS backup installed by default. So you'll have to
install it manually:
- Insert the XP CD Rom and navigate to CD-ROM Drive:\VALUEADD\MSFT\NTBACKUP
- Double-click the Ntbackup.msi file to start the wizard that installs
Backup
- When the wizard is complete, click Finish.
After it's installed you can access your backup files.

| MS Changed the format though. The new Backup in 2000/XP does not recognize
the .qic files anymore. One of the MS VIP's suggested this:
How Do I Open QIC Backup Files In XP

Does you know of a program that will run in XP that will restore .qic files?
Thanks
