If contemplating retrospect and you dont have your own inhouse support,
reconsider

waiting for tech support is forever on hold on phone

on 4 time i am calling, as first 3 times the solutions have not as yet
cleared up all errors on auto backup

meanwhile we are on hhhhhoooollllllddddd

someone should let the C level big shots at EMC know that 'time is
money' for small and medium sized businesses...they seem to have
forgotten

Don't feel too bad. My experience has been that once I get ahold of them
they're no help anyhow.... -)

That and their policy of not releasing bug fix versions would make me select a
different backup utility if/when I have to do it over again.

Try email or their forums (http://forums.dantz.com/ubbthreads/index.php),
might get an answer faster (and hopefully a good solution).
Thing is that in large companies usually the phone support is outsourced, so
don't expect too much on complicated issues.
