Backup Exec 11 and Western Digital NAS

Anyone know of anyway to backup a WD NAS using BE 11? I can't just
select the share, I tried, though maybe I'm doing it wrong. It runs a
unix OS so BE 11 help files say it's impossible just wondering if
anyone knows of any hacks however dirty they may be to make it work.
