| Hello.
I am trying to get my backup procedures back up to snuff and I'm
looking for input. I am using a Buffalo Terastation NAS (set as
RAID-5) as a file server. I have set up its internal utility to do a
full weekly backup to an attached USB drive.
I'm considering options for daily incrementals. My most recent method
was to pop in a DVDR at the end of the day, using a different one for
each day of the week, overwriting last Monday's data with this
Monday's.
Does anyone have experience with online backups? I'm considering
using that instead of burning to disc. Then I don't worry about
forgetting to load it, having a bad disk, forgetting to take the disk
offsite, etc.
#1 - Is there a service that would allow me to set up an automatic
task to make a daily incremental BU to an offsite server?
#2 - Are they secure, reliable, etc.?
#3 - Any specific recommendations?
#4 - Would you recommend such a backup scheme?
#5 - Any other recommendations for data backup?
Thanks!!
