Microsoft Activesync - Backup of computer
|
|
|
| Hi,
Have purchased the WD 500GB HD to backup my data to. Was suggested to use
the free Microsoft Activesync software for syncronizing between my PC and WD
500.
Unfortunately it does not seem to want to do anything. I have installed the
program to my computer. Have not done anything to the WD 500 (should I ?).
Anyone who can guide me on what to do. I know that I am not being very
specific here.
Alternatively maybe there is a another recomendable and easy software I
could use (not norton ghost !).

Acronis True Image

Excellent software. Use it to take an Image of your hard drive,
to your BU drive.
Don`t forget to create the Recovery CD.

Almost ashamed to admit it, but I have never used Microsoft's
Activesync :-)
I do have a good reason though: I use Karen's Replicator.
http://www.karenware.com/powertools/ptreplicator.asp
I am very pleased with the way I can control almost to the byte
what gets replicated.
And I like the clear logfiles, that indicate both success,
failure and a reason for failure.
