Hi this might be a REALLY stupid question but I can't find an answer
anywhere, my backup exec test run has failed and all that I see when I
look in the job history is that every individual part of the test
suceeded but the status of the job is:
Backup Exec Alert: Job Failed
(Server: "SBS2003") (Job: "TestRun 0002") TestRun 0002 -- The job
failed with the following error: Job failed running its test run. See
logfile for details.

For the record its Backup Exec 9.1

My question is...where on earth is this log file?!? I have searched
using google, used Veritas help and looked around the install
directories but can't seem to find it anywhere.

I'd appreciate any help anyone can offer (I also fully appreciate that
I might be being very stupid and it might be a very easy answer)

Thanks in advance

Martin

Hi Martin,

The log file is te job log in the control view of Backup Exec. when
you select the properties of the failed job it brings up another
window. The second tab is the job log.

The problem i have is that the job log says to see the job log. My
backups fail because it says there is insufficient storage media, even
though there is a fresh tape in the drive. It wont allow even a test
to succeed if the job is set for overwrite. the test fails after 5
mins, and its starting to drive me nuts. The test succeeds if its set
to append to media, but when the actual job is run it then requires 3
tapes which is a waste, and not practical. Started doing this out of
the blue. If anyone has encountered this before please help before
the commit me to an asylum.

Thanks in advance

Ian
