| Hi,
I want to know how I can find out whether a host HBA is connect to a
storage device through a switch or it is connected directly.

| To tell you specifically how to do this, I'd need to know the OS of the
host, and the HBA vendor. Different OSes and HBAs have different
utilities/configuration files. However, the host will have some type
of configuration telling the HBA its "Topology type". This will either
be fabirc/switched or arbitrated loop/direct attached.

Aaron,
I interpreted the original poster's question to be WHETHER he could
connect directly from the HBA to the storage device, or if he always
needed to go through an (FC) switch, rather than HOW to do it.
