Yes.. Do you really mean the "Visual Symmetrix" view (which is a
graphical layout of backend spindles and hypers), or do you mean the
Volumes Map view? I'm assuming you probably mean the Volumes Map
view.. but I'll explain both anyway.
For the Volumes Map view -- Have your CE perform the following:
- Login to Symmwin
- Go to the "Volumes Map" view (Configuration -> Volumes Map)
- Copy the view to your Windows clipboard (Edit -> Copy all rows to
Windows clipboard)
- Open windows notepad, paste the clipboard into notepad and save as a
..txt file
- Copy the .txt file to a floppy
You can then copy the contents of the txt file from the floppy to your
own clipboard and paste it into an Excel worksheet, and format as
necessary. You'll probably want to have all cells in the destination
worksheet set to a "Text" format.
For the Visual Symmetrix view -- Have your CE perform the following:
- Login to Symmwin
- Go to the Visual Symmetrix view (Configuration Tools -> Visual
Symmetrix)
- Change format of the view as necessary
- Copy the view to the windows clipboard with a screen capture
(Ctrl-PrtScrn)
- Open windows paint, paste the clipboard into canvas and save
- Copy the file to a floppy
HTH,
- Sean
