| Has anyone used or heard of this device/company. I'm looking
for a VTL solution. Is anyone using a different kind of VTL
or know of one to use or not use?

Hi Mike,
How much total data are you going to be backing up? How long will you
keep that on the VTL? Will you be creating tapes for offsite and if so
what type? What is your budget?

Currently the active files (TSM terms) are just over 3T in size. I
would like to keep just the active on VTL and the inactive on the
onsite and off-site tape pools. Currently I'm in research mode
and do not yet have a budget.

In my research, I found this to be nothing more than a glorified and
expensive RAID. It's possible to implement an entire package for a lot
less money with off the shelf RAID, tape library and backup software.
