| Hi list,
(RAID array newbie - first real time I have admin'ed RAID boxes)
I have to build a new acccounts server (SCO..unfortunately) to run our
accounts package (propath if anyone knows it).
I have SCSI disks enough, but I want to build something that will not use
(need to many disks).
I intend on doing backups of the accounts dbs and data onto tape, so I am
thinking:
It is being built on a COMPAQ Proliant 3000. I am going
to use RAID Level0+1 (to give the disk striping and disk mirroring)
This will be 2 18GB SCSI disks. (From the Level 0+1 combined disk
space will be 18.2GB..I am correct here?)
Since I have the disks to "play with" I am not too worried about
the disk cost implied with Level 0+1.
Since there will be db backups onto DLT tape, am I correct in
assuming this will be a suitable Array setup?
Poke holes, suggest alternatives, much appreciated.

bernard
