MSCS and XIOtech storage

| Anyone tried combining an MS cluster (thinking about starting at 2
nodes each cluster) with a XIOtech Magnitude array?
Should not be a problem. Shared quorum LUN and presto.
Just trying to get a feel for any potential "gotchas".
TIA,

Check how many controllers they have. Last time I was involved with
XioTech they had a single SCSI controller fronting 64 drives. Running
a backup of SAP was dismal. Max througput at the time for the
*entire* box was 80mb/s max theoretical.
Hopefully they've improved that...

Not only have they improved that, they've gone to a distributed
cluster approach. ESG Labs wrote up a good review of it (the
Magnitude 3D) back in August 2003, when the machine first came out.
It's posted on www.xiotech.com
As for running MS clusters on Xiotech, it's solid. Very simple to
configure, practically a no-brainer. No server-side s/w necessary.
