Someone is asking me to try to restore the data on the drive, I don't
have it with me yet. How about the OS? Is it Linux or proprietary?

IIRC, it's a BSD derivative, don't know about the FS, but probably derived
from BSD as well.

It may not work if it is part of an array. If you are using Linux try a -t
auto and see if it picks it up.

Thanks, I figured it would be. I think it's one of those 40GB
desktop, single-drive jobs. My wife's company is too cheap to buy
anything else.

Depnds which box you are talking about, Gaurdian is the "big boy." As you
can see from the subject line, the original poster is talking about the SNAP
server which is very different beast.
