Hiya.
I am looking for some software that will back up the files on my Windows XP
computer to DVD.

I want the DVD to be able to be read on any other computer without special
software.
This veritas i have seems to need veritas to be installed on the "future"
machine.
I just want the files in regular format.

auto-zipping the folders would be nice

I hope you can help.

Hi Carol,
If I understood correctly you want a backup program that will allow you to
backup to a DVD in a common format like zip for example. If you don't need
to backup system files too, I suggest you try Backup4all,
http://www.backup4all.com/download.php because it will allow you to backup
to a DVD in a zip format and then with no problem at all you can unzip the
files to any other computer without having it installed on other machines.
So give it a try and if you have any problems just tell me. I hope this
helps.

I'm glad I helped Carol. You can use the "mirror backup" if you don't want
to zip the files you backup. More information available here:
http://www.backup4all.com/mirror_backup.php . Feel free to ask if there are
any other questions.
