Has anyone had an issues while in the process of creating new devices
using the ECC software?
We got about 90% of the way through the wizard (Logical Device
Configuration) when the process failed during the commit phase.
Suffice it to say this is not a good thing! Issues started occurring,
and EMC was engaged.
I'm wondering if anyone else had run into a similar issue while on
this version of code?

Symm code = 5670 (DMX1000)
ECC version = 5.1.2.1 (Windows 2000)

Thanks

Seen this on several occasions. Most common cause for the commit to
fail is a communication issue with the service processor or an
internal script failing for some reason. EMCs support people should be
able to clean that up in no time. From the error codes in the symapi
log and the state of the service processor they also should be able to
give you a good explanation what happened.

Check if Solution Enabler 5.4.2 is installed. If not I strongly
recommend an upgrade to this level with the DMX.

It seems that ECC 5.2 is slightly less buggy too...

Thanks all I appreciate the input. Waiting on my 5.2 CD's now.
