Veritas Netbackup - Help Required

| Hi
I have a problem with Veritas Netbackup BusinesServer 4.5 (MP6). One of the
guys started a restore from tape using the Java client, the problem is that
he actually restored a file to a location that wasn't large enough for it.
The restore obviously failed but in the client still says in progress
(however, the on screen log seems to suggest that its finished). Now
everytime I try to run a new restore it starts and then fails with the
error:
INF - Status = cannot connect on socket
I have tried running a bpdbjobs -report and this showed the job with a state
of done which meant I couldn't kill or cancel it, but the status was 25
where other restores where 50.
It seems as though the first restore is retaining a required socket, but I
don't know how to force it to release it.
Can anyone help, I am close to pulling out what little hair I have left.

I guess a child program is still running on the client, holding the socket
busy.
Watch processes for names that start with bp...

Did you try stopping and starting netbackup?
with bpps you can see al the processen running

To be honest I am completely baffled. I have stopped netbackup and there
were no proccesses running with bpps. I have even hard rebooted the server,
I just don't know what to do next. The strange thing is bpdbjobs shows the
as done but the jbpSA interface shows it as in progress.

| That's strange indeed. Older versions used to do that now and a while. There
is probably some lock file somewhere. I can't look at a netbackup machine
now to find where they should be
start a new job and do a find on the job id. You should find the directory
where all the job's are. Remove all old job id's
