Author tracking binaries in user home dirs

Does anyone know of a way to track binary usage from a users NFS
mounted home dir?

We're running into a problem where a user is running binaries out of
their home dir that are already installed in AFS causing the NFS
server to get hammered. I'd like to be able to trace who that user
is.

Server is NetApp, binaries are anything you can think of but mostly
gnu stuff I think.

I can't think of anything that will do this but I thought I'd ask
anyway.

Thanks.
