Hi All,
I'm currently in the middle of a project to implement an IBM SVC
Cluster on one of my SANs so that I can virtualize everything behind
it. One of the concerns we have is how certain applications behave,
including MS Exchange 2003. Right now, we have IBM FastT900's with
Windows and AIX hosts. Some of those Windows hosts are running Exchange
2003, and seem very sensitive to being on a RAID array being used by
other hosts. (ie, multiple LUNs carved out of a large array 8-member
RAID5 array). Exchange seems to be able to beat the heck of out our
FastT when doing things like nightly maintenance, defrags, etc.

Obviously, the SVC wants to spread LUNs out across as many disks as you
will let it. However, I'm concerned for performance and affecting other
systems. So, do any of you have an SVC in your environment, and if so,
are you running Exchange on Windows? Any advice on doing so?

Thanks in advance for any feedback or help.
Don
