| I have a position open that you may be interested in. It is for a
storage architect at a major financial firm here in the Tampa Bay area.
here is what I need...
POSITION DUTIES
<>Strong EMC experience is mandatory.
<>Main responsibility: Develop strategy and direct the design of the
corporate storage infrastructure, with emphasis on functionality,
performance, reliability, and cost effectiveness.
Duties:
<>Evaluate emerging storage technologies and determine their
applicability to the firm'senvironment.
<>Perform capacity planning and system optimization.
<>Streamline and automate storage procedures and practices.
<>Perform enterprise level product evaluations related to the storage
infrastructure.
<>Design and coordinate the implementation of remote replication for
the purpose of disaster recovery.
<>Evaluate and optimize the use of storage management software.
<>Manage the design and implementation of complex projects.
<>Perform third-level error troubleshooting functions using all
available tools and resources.
<>Document storage/network configurations and facilities as needed.
<>Provide technical training for operations staff as needed.
<>Submit written project plans as required by management.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS
<>Expert (5-7 years) in the design and configuration of modern storage
systems, networks, and software, with emphasis on EMC vendor storage
devices on both the DMX and CX platforms.
<>Storage architecture experience in an enterprise environment.
<>Practiced in the administration of the Windows Network Operating
System, Active Directory, DNS, and related technologies.
<>Moderate knowledge of data network design and IP routing.
<>Experienced in the design and support of tape backup and virtual tape
systems.
<>Adept at troubleshooting issues affecting storage systems, Fibre
Channel switches, HBA's, and related software.
Strong working knowledge of storage technologies (SAN).
Ability to:
<>Manage moderate-sized projects to achieve timely, successful
completion.
<>Able to employ strategic technological planning at an enterprise
level.
<>Possess oral and written communication skills necessary to convey
technical subject matter clearly and concisely.
<>Able to work independently, with little direct supervision.
